The apostle John wrote of Christ, “In him was light, and the light was the life of men” (Jn 1:4). The story of the Bible opens with the creation of light and the story concludes with God’s people living in a city where there is no need for “the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light…” (Rev 21:23).
This year’s Christmas Musical is entitled, “You Are The Light” and gives us the opportunity to celebrate the Light that was born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago, a light that continues to fill our hearts today. The program is being developed with a wide appeal; those who have attended this event for years will enjoy the music of the choir and orchestra and the visual elements will appeal to children and young families. All children who attend will receive a special gift to remember the event.
You Are the Light will be presented on Thursday through Sunday, December 12-15. (Doors will open thirty minutes before each performance.)
- Thursday, Dec 12 at 7:00 p.m.
- Friday, Dec 13 at 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec 14 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec 15 at 4:00 p.m.
As a special treat, the prelude for the concert will be presented by Stained Glass Bluegrass, our own bluegrass ensemble as well as our children’s choir and youth ensemble.
Most importantly, those who attend will hear a clear presentation of the gospel and will be reminded that “God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God's glory displayed in the face of Christ” (2 Cor 4:6).
